Between the rains

Today is another rainy day, gray and misty.

It's hard to believe that just yesterday several monarch butterflies visited the garden throughout the day.

In the afternoon this monarch female sunned herself on a coastal redwood branch.

A Sandhill skipper perched atop the whorl of a dried lambs ear.
