Look who loves the Yellow Coastal Bush Lupine

Our Yellow Coastal Bush Lupines Lupinus arboreus are growing quickly and the bees love the blossoms.

Here is a yellow-faced bumble bee hanging out around the blossoms.

These lupines are native to the Humboldt Bay area in Northern California.

They are fast growing to four feet tall by four feet wide, and live for up to seven years. Apparently they can be invasive, so the seed pods should be collected to prevent the plants from spreading and creating a monoculture in large areas.

They certainly have lovely blossoms and it's nice to provide the bees something different to feed on.
