Bumble Bees in the Native Garden

As the plants blossom, and the temperature warms up, out come the bees.

There is so much bee activity in the native garden these days, especially with bumble bees visiting.

In the image above is a Black Tailed Bumble Bee Bombus melanopygus on a California Delta Sunflower. These bumble bees are so cute with their bright yellow and black stripes. They are smaller than the Yellow Faced Bumblebee Bombus vosnesenskii.

Here is a Yellow Faced Bumble Bee Bombus vosnesenskii on a Tidy Tips blossom.

As you can tell, the photo was taken in the bright early afternoon.
