Honey Bee visiting on a cloudy day

While I was cleaning up around the patio today I was pleasantly surprised to hear buzzing close by. Sure enough, it was a honey bee.

It was a very cloudy day with a few brief moments of sunshine.

Some flowers are still a little soggy from recent rains, so I don't know how diluted their nectar is.

In the above photo, the honey bee is on a leaf of a butterfly bush.

And here it is on a lavender plant.

I finally learned last year that if you keep cutting the dried up lavender stalks, the lavender plants will keep producing new blossoms.

And you can keep the dried lavender for potpourri sachets to scent your home.

I trimmed off the dried flower stalks after I took this photo.
