Those rascal Wool Carder Bees

September 12, 2017

Every day we have Wool Carder Bee  Anthidium manicatum visitors in both the front native garden and around the patio. The males are very stout in shape, and constantly in motion, which is why it is difficult to capture them in a photo.

They chase other bees from nectar sources such as the lavender plant in the image above, and even try to look menacing at me. Such funny bees.

Above is an image of a male wool carder bee in a lavender shrub.

And here is an image of both a Wool Carder Bee and Honey Bee on the same lavender plant.
