Tickseed aka coreopsis = more food for bees


I purchased a new plant for the backyard, tickseed aka coreopsis.

It's still a small plant, but within a few hours I observed a hover fly moving from blossom to blossom, obviously enjoying the nectar.

In the image above you see the hover fly from behind.

And here is a side view of the hover fly on another blossom of the same plant.

The coreopsis plant is still quite small, about 8 inches high.
